Rapp Announces More Than $287,350 in Fire and Ambulance Grants En Route to Crawford, Forest and Warren Counties

WARREN — Rep. Kathy Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) announced today that 27 fire departments and ambulance organizations throughout Crawford, Forest and Warren counties have been awarded approximately $287,357.73 from a grant program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
 
“Our emergency service providers are the real everyday heroes of our communities, and I am honored to announce that hundreds of thousands of dollars are once again on the way to benefit our dedicated first responders throughout Crawford, Forest and Warren counties,” said Rapp. “As a member of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, I will continue to support the expansion of this critical funding program that has allowed so many of our local volunteer fire and ambulance organizations to obtain new equipment, take training classes, pay down debt or improve their facilities. Fire and EMS services are so essential to the safety and survival of every community, and we must continue to do whatever we can at the state level to support these organizations.”

All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not general fund tax revenue.
 
Projects eligible for funding include: construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.
