WARREN — Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) announced today the Northwest PA Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC) will receive a $200,000 Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) grant to support manufacturing programs. The money will go to NWIRC’s “Project Manufacturing Talent Stream,” a program that brings students and other future job seekers on-site to manufacturers to explore career opportunities.

“Businesses in all sorts of sectors are having trouble finding workers right now,” Rapp said. “This program is an important tool that helps both employers and potential employees, and I’m glad to see this grant to help it grow.”

The NWIRC is a nonprofit organization serving small and mid-sized manufacturers. In addition to Warren, Crawford and Forest counties, the “Project Manufacturing Talent Stream” program also serves Clarion, Erie, Mercer and Venango counties.
