Rapp Announces $543,000 for Fire, EMS Companies in 65th District

February 18, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) announced today that fire and ambulance companies in the 65th Legislative District will collectively receive $543,382 in state grants to support their public safety mission.

“Firefighters and emergency responders in rural Pennsylvania face the challenge of covering vast territories with limited resources,” Rapp said. “We can’t shrink those coverage areas, but we can strengthen support for fire and ambulance companies by ensuring they have the funding they need. These grants are an important step toward that goal.”

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, recruitment and retention, public education about fire safety, or reduction of existing debt.

All companies that apply and meet requirements outlined by OSFC receive funding. Companies must file a grant agreement with OSFC to receive their grants.
