Rapp to Host REAL ID Informational Event on June 15
June 5, 2019
WARREN – Rep. Kathy Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) will be hosting a REAL ID informational event on Saturday, June 15, at the Days Inn, 210 Ludlow St., Warren, PA, beginning at 10 a.m.
“REAL IDs are now available to Pennsylvanians who want them,” said Rapp. “This FREE event is a great opportunity for residents to weigh their options and make an informed decision if REAL ID is right for them.”
Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will present information on REAL ID and answer questions from the audience.
As of now, enforcement of the REAL ID Act will begin on Oct. 1, 2020, meaning Pennsylvanians will need a REAL ID-compliant license, identification card or an acceptable alternative identification as approved by the Transportation Security Administration (such as a passport) to board domestic commercial flights or enter center federal facilities.
“My district offices are hearing from many residents about the frustration they experienced when trying to obtain a REAL ID,” said Rapp. “As the process is new for everyone, we decided to host this event to clear up any confusion and give people the opportunity to make sure they have the documents they need before spending hours at the DMV – only to find out the documents they have are insufficient.”
Please be aware that there will be no REAL IDs issued at this event, nor will any documents be pre-verified. All documents will need to be taken to a DMV center for processing.
Those who wish to attend can register by calling Rapp’s Warren district office at 814-723-5203 or the Titusville district office at 814-827-6054. Light refreshments will be provided.
