Rapp and Hutchinson to Host Concealed Carry, Firearms Safety and Rights Seminar
5/16/2014
WARREN — Rep. Kathy Rapp (R-Warren/Forest/McKean) and Sen. Scott Hutchinson (R-Warren/Butler/Clarion/Erie/Venango) will host a Concealed Carry Seminar on Saturday, June 14, from 9-11 a.m. This no-cost seminar will be held at the Warren Holiday Inn, 210 Ludlow Street.

“Article 1, Section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution, clearly states that, ‘The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the state shall not be questioned,’” said Rapp. “The number of people obtaining concealed carry permits is also without question on the rise. This seminar offers the dual opportunity for both current and prospective permit holders to learn the rights and responsibilities associated with concealed carry and to get their most important questions answered about freely, safely and responsibly exercising your right to keep and bear arms.”

Presenters Warren County District Attorney Rob Greene, Warren County Sheriff Ken Klakamp and Forest County Sheriff Bob Wolfgang will focus on a wide variety of firearms safety and Second Amendment subjects including:

• How to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
• Circumstances under which a permit can be revoked.
• What to do when coming in contact with a member of law enforcement while carrying a concealed weapon.
• Details surrounding Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine and other valuable information regarding state gun laws.

“I’d like to thank Representative Rapp for coordinating this important seminar,” said Hutchinson. “The Pennsylvania and the United States Constitutions expressly preserve our right to bear arms and it is the responsibility of us as citizens to be responsible gun owners. I strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about applying for a concealed carry permit and those who already have one to attend this seminar and learn more about the process and their rights.”

Concealed carry license applications will also be available at this event.

Seating is limited and will fill up quickly, so interested individuals should pre-register as soon as possible by calling Rapp’s Warren district office at (814) 723-5203. For more information, download and print out a seminar flyer at RepRapp.com.
