Wentling, Rapp and Roae Announce Funding to Assist Crawford County’s Homeless
HARRISBURG – Reps. Parke Wentling (R-Crawford/Erie/Lawrence/Mercer), Kathy Rapp (R-Crawford/Forest/Warren) and Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) today announced that the Coalition for Housing Needs in Crawford County has been awarded a $92,897 federal grant to address the need for emergency housing for the homeless.

“This grant will allow the coaltion to increase bed capacity and expand services for individuals in need,” said Wentling. “The release of these federal dollars will enable this organization to expand its outreach to vulnerable individuals, helping them to get back on their feet and begin new lives.”

“Homelessness continues to be a serious concern that needs our attention,” said Rapp. “When we proactively take steps to fix this problem, we help improve the overall quality of life in our communities. This funding is yet another tangible example of the tremendous partnerships that are being forged between local, state and federal governments to make life better for all Pennsylvanians.”

The funding was made available through the federal Continuum of Care Program, which is designed to promote communitywide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness. It is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

“This funding can make a big difference for the people who rely on the coalition,” said Roae. “I am pleased to see these federal dollars being reinvested into this local asset.”
