Rapp Bill to Rename Sugar Grove Main Street Bridge for POW-MIA American Military Heroes Now Law
Legislation sponsored by State Representative Kathy Rapp (R-Warren/Forest/McKean) to rename the Main Street Bridge on PA Route 69 in the Borough of Sugar Grove as the AMVETS POW-MIA Memorial Bridge was signed into law on June 30.
“It is not only fitting but more importantly our patriotic duty to do whatever we can to honor these all-too-often forgotten military heroes who were willing to surrender their lives in defense of America and many of them never returned home,” said Rapp.  “Naming this bridge in their memory is just one tangible way anyone traveling on Main Street in Sugar Grove can take a moment to say thank you for the valor and personal sacrifices that these brave soldiers displayed under fire to ensure that our nation remains the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
Rapp’s legislation, which was unanimously enacted by the Pennsylvania General Assembly on June 29, will take effect in 60 days.
